Supreme Daughters of Mokanna |
| Founded
in Rock Island, Illinois, on June 5, 1919, The Supreme Daughters of Mokanna is an
auxiliary organization of the Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm
(Grotto), comprised of women aged 18 and above having a relative in the Grotto. The Order
extends throughout the United States and Canada. Each local chapter of the Order, called a Caldron, takes on the name of the Grotto for a given city. Members wear a blue fez with a red tassel vs. the black fez and red tassel of the Grotto. The leader of the local body or jurisdiction called "The Mighty Chosen One" wears a red fez with a gold tassel. The purpose of the organization is, like the Grotto and Shrine, social and philanthropic. Daughters of Mokanna philanthropy is focused on fund raising and charitable contributions to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation. |
